The Dark and Light series takes a modern simplistic approach to a classic beach and ocean scene. I use a dark under layer behind the waves, and a lighter wash on the sky and foreground that allows the natural wood grain to be a part of the painting. I also use perspectives and colors in variations and combinations that allow the collector to find that perfect piece.
